• History: Sassa's mother was a shield maiden in her youth, going on raids and spending most of her time having fun with whoever she wanted to. To say she slept around with the viking men would be a bit of an understatement. So when she finally fell pregnant from her fun partying ways she was unsure who the father of her child was. None of the men that she slept with wanted to claim the child as their own, so her mother ended up raising her alone. The pregnancy had been very hard on her mother, so when Sassa was finally born, her mother knew she would never be able to go on another raid again. Her body just never recovered to what it once was, and for most shield maidens that would have been very hard to accept. However Sass's mother was actually happy to have a reason to devote all her time to her child. Without a husband to help take care of her child, she wanted all her free time to be given to Sassa.

Most of Sass's childhood had been a happy one. She played with a lot of the local children, sometimes even the  Ragnarssons brothers. She got along with most people, and she was a curious child. When she was old enough to hold a sword, her mother started Sassa on her training to be a strong women, even if she might never be a shield maiden like herself. She at least wanted her daughter to be able to protect herself. Her mother wanted her to fallow in her foot steps, but also wanted to make sure Sassa was able to do what she wanted in life. She also wanted to make sure that Sassa was more careful, and found a husband to help take care of her. So that way she would never be in the position that she found herself in. So she tends to push her toward what she believes would be matches within her reach. Even though Sassa knows she secretly wishes she could be with one of the Ragnarsson brothers.

As Sassa got older and older her skills also got better. Swords and knifes were her specialty. Sometimes using axes, but they were her least favorite. She considerers herself to be a strong fighter, even though she is just a simple villager at the moment. Her dreams are to show the village that she is more than just a beautiful face.
