When you register on this RPG, the name of your account will also be the name of your character. So if you would ever want a second character, you will have to make an extra account. Take my account as example:
My character is called Björn Ragnarsson and all the stories I write in the IC part of this RPG are from his perspective.
You may or may not have noticed that people from the North have special surnames. Northern names are patronyms where the name of the father is being hidden in the genitive, followed by sson in the case of a son or sdóttir in the case of a daughter. For example:
Ragnar has five sons, called Ragnarsson. He had one daughter who was called Gyda Ragnarsdóttir.
You are free to pick any first name you want, but we strongly recommend a name that suits the 'Vikings'-style. For determining the last name of your character, you’ll have to work out some history. Who his or her parents were and how they were called. If you have thought about that, you can form the last name of your character.
Another example:
Is the father of your character unknown? Then the last name will be automatically Odinsson or Odinsdóttir. No exceptions.
