Zakarias, second son of Leif and Gunnhild, lived as a happy little boy in Skagen. He had parents whom adored him and a brother he looked up to, as young as the little boy was. But his time in Skagen didn’t take very long, though. Zakarias was 5 years old when the fight began, when Halfdan and Harald had taken over. For being so young, Zakarias didn’t experience much of all the fights and killing. Friends of his parents took him with them to Skagarrak, hoping to survive and live.

A long time passed and Zakarias grew up to be very promising. He could fight and knew his ways around wood. Also he is good looking, what gave him many opportunities. But Zakarias didn’t take any of them. He was trained to fight, but didn’t finish his trainings to become a real Viking. He could build boats, but he didn’t want to be a boat builder, even though his father was one. A legend, he heard. Zakarias didn’t want to have to live up to his father’s name, for he was too much of a perfectionist to do so. So he became just a normal villager, someone with many qualities.

Zakarias kept up his work with wood, beginning to make furniture. The people in Skagerrak liked his work, bought it and used it in their houses.  Soon he was well known in Skagerrak, only 19 years old. He kept making furniture, living at peace in Skagerrak. Until he heard about a boat builder in Skagen, wearing the same name as his: Leifsson. The friends of his parents had told him many stories about his parents and his brother, Sithric. It was too much of a coincidence so Zakarias decided to leave his peaceful live in Skaggerak to find his brother, in Skagen.
