History: Erik was born in Falkenbach, a small village near Skagen. He was the son of a blacksmith, Harald, and his wife Freya. While childhood was rough and he grew up in poverty, he did the best with what he had, enjoying playing with wooden swords with his brother Bjorn in particular. Even though he couldn't read, he had aspirations of becoming a great warrior of the local jarl. He wanted to ride into battle and lead raids with his father and brother by his side. Though, he realized just how difficult this would be. His childhood was spent apprenticing to his father, as well as running around playing with the other children.
His father would eventually step down from running the forge, and Erik would take over running the shop when he was sixteen. Tragedy struck when he was nineteen, however. The house his family lived in caught on fire. Erik rushed in as soon as he saw the smoke pouring from it. However, it was too late. Wood began collapsing as he saw the dead bodies of his family trapped underneath a piece of wood. Traumatized by the experience, he left the city, and headed for someplace where he could escape the trauma and mourn without being reminded of the horror.
Then he met Leif and nothing was ever the same. He fell for the young carpenter, and much to his surprise, Leif also returned his affections. The two eventually want a family at some point soon.
