Personality: Sigrun is as fiery as her flaming red hair. Her temper is as unpredictable as the sea. Defiant, stalwart. Loyal to those that have earned it. She is a wild card, in a culture she does not belong to but has no choice but to relent. She has a sharp tongue and detests her status as thrall. She has a tendency to talk to herself in her native tongue though if it is to keep her words hers or if it is to vex her masters is anyone’s guess. She learns quickly, however, and knows that doing as she is ordered to is her only way to potentially earn her freedom. She bids her time, listens, taking to her role as useless thrall all the while acting as if she does not understand the words her masters speak as she did not when she’d first been sold to them.

History: On her fifteenth birthday a small band of Northmen arrived on the shores of clan Tiergnach’s lands and conquered it. They did not stay and they did not leave empty handed. Ríoghnach was carried, bound and gagged away from her home mistaken for a valkyrie due to the ritual black dress she wore in honor of Morrighan, decorated with feathers and the skulls of ravens, woven with the triple knot face painted in blue woad. One of these men, Njal Rigrsson took pity upon her and brought her back to his home in Kattlegat where he adopted her, naming her for the valkyrie she’d been mistaken as: Sigrun. Hard times fell upon his forge and he was forced to sell her as a thrall so he did not lose everything and serving the royal family is where she has spent the past four years, concerning herself with ensuring her mistakes do not reflect poorly upon Njal who has cared for her as he did his own daughter whom had died so many years ago. She long understood her tribe will not come for her and that if she desires her freedom whether she achieves it or not rests upon her own shoulders.
