After her mother died from giving birth to her last child, their father abandoned his children to
spend the rest of his freedom with his mistress. It was her brother's who raised her once they had
moved to their grandparents in Kattegat. The infamous home of Ragnar and his sons.
Freya blamed herself for such a long time for the death of her mother, but her brothers told her the
truth. Death has and always will be part of life. Better to accept it than to fear it.


Her grandparents had become her guardians and made her in charge of most the farm work so it would
keep her mind preoccupied with other things like - tending to the crops, taking care of the livestock
and fetching the eggs. Her life was pretty plain compared to the Vikings, the shieldmaidens, and the
others whose lives seemed like what dreams were made out of.

There were of course rumors about her father being one of the Vikings who went to raids and wars, but
without solid proof, she could never know unless someone else knows exactly who her father is.
Being born in Kattegat had its advantages when it came to her grandparent's farm since they were
helping to feed every Kattegat inhabitant.

Her brother's found out that she had a crush on one of Ragnar's sons - Ubbe. She had liked him since
a little girl, and her brothers now tease her about it every chance they get. She won't admit she likes
him since she doesn't even know if a prince of Kattegat could ever be into someone like her anyway.
A farmers daughter isn't exactly a shield maiden, but she would be willing to train as one since
her mother had once been a shield maiden before she passed and entered the gates of Valhalla.
