You could almost hear the beating heart as the iron blades smashed together. Bright, blue eyes spit almost fire while Naemi stepped aside before her right arm made a perfect turn to hit the other Thegn against his back. The young man lost his breath for a few seconds, a brief moment Naemi used to kick him down to the ground. She held her feet against his back, grinning. She turned the blade against her shoulder before stepping of the Thegns back. He got up quirkily, giving her an angry look before he got himself together and shake her hand. “Nice play,” He complimented her and Naemi nodded softly, still grinning. She became better day by day and it showed off perfectly. Her blue eyes, still filled with fire, looked over at her little siblings. The twins were playing with each other, pretending to be Thegns too. They weren’t nearly as good as their sister, but it was cute to watch. The young Thegn turned her body around, watching other Thegns train. Naemi always liked to watch, observe the tactics of others. She learned a lot that way.
The fight of the other Thegns lasted almost ten minutes and when Naemi turned back to her siblings, they were gone. ”Ebba, Bjarne?” She said loudly, but didn’t get any respond. With her face straightened she walked over to the place they used to play, but couldn’t see them. ”Ebba, Bjarne.” Her voice strict, clearly not happy about this little game they played. Or at least she toughed so. There wasn’t any sign of them and it made her really worried. Bjarne and Ebba never wandered off, or at least Ebba wouldn’t. Naemi moved her step, almost running through the forest. ”This isn’t funny!” She yelled, angry and worried. The forest was a big place and they wouldn’t know their way back, for they never been far into the woods. It was quiet, too quiet. The only sound she heard was her own breathing and cracking of the wood underneath her weight. Naemi made her way back to the village, hoping they were heading back home. ”Ebba, Bjarne!” She yelled again while her eyes looked around the environment, but there was nothing but trees.

| A few days after arriving in Kattegat, Iliana took it upon herself to go in search of the thegn whose day she’d interrupted on her first afternoon in the village. The other woman had been less than enthusiastic about helping her, and Iliana thought it would be in her best interests to attempt to smooth things over. She was a thegn, after all. She’d be a shield maiden one day. That was not the sort of person Iliana wanted to annoy, it was the type of person she wanted to befriend.
She brought with her three small bags, each with a small piece of jewelry in it. The redhead was hoping to make a gift of them to the brunette she’d met, and the two children she had with her. Iliana still didn’t know their names, or where they lived, which made her task for the day quite difficult. But, being from Uddevalla, she was quite used to being around warriors, and knew warriors trained. So, rather than walking around and going house to house to try to locate them, Iliana headed in the direction of the forest, where she had discovered some of the Thegns trained together on occasion.
However, almost immediately after she stepped foot in the woods, the very young woman she was searching for came running towards her, looking frantic and panicked.
“Are you okay? What’s wrong?” She was certain she heard the other woman yelling names, and quickly assumed what had happened. “You’re looking for… your… those kids? Do you need help? I’ll help.” Tucking the bags into her cloak, Iliana quickly scanned the area nearby. “Um, you came from that direction?” she asked, pointing back through the woods. “I’ll go look down near the docks? Um, sorry, what are their names?” It hadn’t come up before when they’d spoken, and Iliana hadn’t heard what she was shouting very clearly. “Do they do this sort of thing often?” She seemed too worried for this to be a normal occurrence but Iliana thought it was important to get as much information as she could. |

It was the young Thegns lifes mission to become the best shield maiden Kattegat had ever seen. She was so driven, passionate and fierce that the other Thegns had a hard time defeating her. Her eyes spitted almost fire and the cold, icy look hidden behind the power that radiated her blue eyes. Naemi’s movement were coordinated, controlled and still elegant. She moved her sword as if she was born with it, as an extension of her arm. The girl enjoyed fighting, sometimes maybe too much, and her smile screamed satisfaction as she won this round, again. With a soft sign, she puts her sword back in its holder before walking away from the training field.
Naemi is a fierce woman, a girl who isn’t easy to impress or to be loved. Her friendship, love and kindness is something a person really needs to earn. She doesn’t trust others easily and for that doesn’t have many friends. She has a real good personality, but it isn’t showed often. Her cold, distant side of her personality is a way to protect herself from getting hurt, protecting the insecure and unsure side of hers. But with her siblings, she doesn’t has any trouble showing that side. They are her world, proud and love. When her mother is too busy with her job and the little ones can’t be left alone, she takes care of them. As today, she took them with her to her training. They were playing with wood, trying to imitate their big sister. But when Naemi had finished her battle and went so see them, they were gone. Her muscles almost immediately strain and her normally cold eyes, looked worried. Naemi called their names, looked for them around the training field. But there was no sign of them and the kids didn’t know the way back to the village. At first, Naemi toughed the twins were playing a game with her. She could imagine how they would laugh behind a tree, seeing their sister so worried. So she straightened her face, her voice strict while saying their names. But it wasn’t something for Ebba to keep the game up this long. Not showing, but from the inside Naemi panicked and she started to walk towards the village, hoping to come across the twins.
But as soon as she arrived at the edge of the forest, she hadn’t found them. Naemi wanted to turn back, but a familiar face hold her standing. “Are you okay? What’s wrong?” Iliana asked and Naemi frowned her eyebrows for a brief second, trying to hide the panic in her eyes. Her body was shaking, unable for Iliana to see, but it made Naemi even more out of control. Her head was chaotic and she was scared for the twins, lost and all alone in the forest. “You’re looking for… your… those kids? Do you need help? I’ll help.” Naemi looked at Iliana, wanting to drop her offer, but she was afraid she would need all the help she could get. So her eyes did the same as Iliana’s, scanning the area. Only to see more trees. “Um, you came from that direction?” Naemi nodded. ”Yes, I came from the training fields. They were with me while I was training, but they just.. Disappeared.” She explained. The twins never disappeared. They were good kids, always telling her big sister where they were going and with whom. “I’ll go look down near the docks? Um, sorry, what are their names?” ”Ebba and Bjarne,” Naemi nodded, trying to control her breath. She had to stay calm in order to think straight. ”I’ll come with you,” She then said, leaving all her social issues behind. This red-haired girl was trying to help her and Naemi had to embrace that. The Thegn started walking towards the docks, assuming Iliana would follow her. Her eyes scanned the environment closely , looking for any little detail that would lead towards the twins. “Do they do this sort of thing often?” Iliana asked and Naemi shoke her head. ”Never, Bjarne likes to play hide and seek but they know that it’s off limits in the forest.” Her voice still distant, but you could hear the worry behind her cold mask.

| Iliana could feel herself starting to panic just a little, and knew it had nothing to do with her, and everything to do with the thegn in front of her. She tried her best to hide and ignore it, but she was an unfortunately empathetic person. It was probably one of the reasons she tried her best to distance herself from people. But she’d never been responsible for anyone else before; had never experienced this sort of panic over losing track of people she was meant to be looking after. But even as Naemi tried her best to keep a straight face, Iliana could hear the worry in her voice, and it was having an effect on her.
The last thing the other woman needed was a panicked, useless idiot stumbling around after her, hindering her attempts to find the missing children, so Iliana forced herself to keep it together. “Ebba & Bjarne,” she repeated, nodding, and heading towards the docks. The brunette was accompanying her, which made sense when she thought about it. Though she had met the pair of them that one time before, she was definitely still a stranger, and they may not come revealed themselves to her if she was alone.
Keeping her eyes open and repeatedly scanning the area for anything that seemed out of place, Iliana kept pace with Naemi, not wanting to hold her up or slow her down. Luckily, she was quite tall, so her strides were long. “Could they have gone home without you?” Iliana was a bit naive at times, but she honestly couldn’t imagine anyone hurting two small children that belonged to a warrior. She knew there were bad people out there, but if someone had actually taken the children, they’d picked their targets poorly. Naemi didn’t exactly seem the forgiving sort. But she was getting ahead of herself. She still thought the children had likely run off to play and simply failed to inform their guardian ahead of time.
“Or, is there someone else they might’ve gone to visit?” It was a shame she didn’t know anyone yet, she certainly wouldn’t be any help if the thegn tried to get her to go in search of them by herself. She barely knew anyone, and only had a good grasp on the layout of the marketplace. The rest of Kattegat was still mostly foreign to her. |
