PostSubject: Arrival. [Sigrunn Vidarsdóttir] Arrival. [Sigrunn Vidarsdóttir] EmptyWed Jul 12, 2017 2:49 pm

The boat rocked softly on the waves. The dark waters of the sea had finally calmed down again. The night before there had been a storm. A storm that made the waters wild, very wild. Thor had been throwing his hammer through the sky. It was filled with thunder and lightning. Rain had been pouring down as if it wanted to fill the boat with water to make it sink down in the deep cold dark ocean. Which made sure not many men on the boat had caught any sleep at all. Svipday however had not been worried. It was more the other way around. He had slept well, light however, but well. He always felt calmer when a storm was about. He also had not been worried of the boat sinking. If that was to happen then it was the will of the gods and they would not be able to escape their fate. Another reason he had not been worried was because he knew a storm was coming. The sky had already been spread with dark clouds the day he took off. Even with that knowledge he still went with the boat. He could easily have gone by foot. But with the cargo he was carrying with him… That would have been a long and tiring trip. Especially with the storm. The boat was easier, he didn’t have to carry his cargo with him all the hours of the day. And the streams of the sea brought him faster to his destination then his feet could carry him.
Now he was standing at the head of the boat. Looking over the dark waters that gleamed silver in the light of the still grey clouded sky. The docks of Kattegat was already in view. It wouldn’t be long for the boat could finally board. He closed his eyes as some wind passed by him. Listening to the voices of the other people on the boat. Most seeming to be delighted to get of the boat. Glad that it did not sink in the storm. Svipday cracked a smile at that thought and looked back up at the sky. He had a feeling the weather would show itself to be just as bad today.

As soon as the boat bore he took up his cargo. Lifting the three heavy backs over his shoulders. Two on one the lightest he held in his other hand next to him. He greeted the shipper and thanked him. Before he set foot on the wood of the docks. People were passing by, carrying their own cargo or running to people they knew. Some people even ran into him. Though he barely bugged at it. He was to heavy loaded for that. Though he did not especially liked being run into. He stared of the port for a while before he finally started moving. How long had it been since he last been here? It was some years that was for sure. Working as an Iron miner didn’t give him too much free time. Making sure to keep him in Uddevalla. He guessed he could call himself lucky that Mac had too much work to come here and sell the iron and weapons himself. So naturally he had offered to go. The old man had not protested. But did say that he couldn’t come back till he had sold every little bit of it.
He laughed at the memory of the man pointing at him with hot red iron. Well not that he minded. After all there were some things Mac had asked for and the rest he could sell as he saw fit. It didn’t really matter to him ether how long he would have to be here. He quite enjoyed being away from his daily life. Brought some fresh air into it.

As he moved over the dogs making his way to actually dry ground. He looked over the place. Not much seemed to have changed. At least for as far as he could remember. Though he had heard rumours that the politic situation here wasn’t as stable as it used to be. Though it wasn’t his problem, as long as they still could come here for trades he would be happy. With looking at the buildings and the place he was no longer paying attention to where he was going. Though by now most people had cleared, it was still busy. But he would have believed most people naturally would walk around him. But still once more someone bumped against him. A bigger man and this time Svipday did lose some of his footing. Making him move to the side and bump into another person. Someone smaller then him. Out of reflex he let go of the bag he was carrying at his side and grabbed the person he had run into. Pulling that person closer to him making sure they would not fall. Letting out a groan and glaring at the man who had bumped into him. Before he leaned down and grabbed his back again. Turning to the other person. ”I’m sorry about that.” He at least would apologies for what happened.
[Had Permission from Sigrunn to run into her. ;D]

@ Sigrunn: Hope you can do something with it. ^.^

It was just another day of work in Kattegat. She was preparing the meals for the royal family, cleaning after them and other boring stuff. She was completely bored inside, but smilling outside, because she had no other choice. But her mood changed completely, when she was told to buy some vegetable for dinner. She loved walking the streets of Kattegat. She always met interesting people. Some guys were making some horny comments about her, some people were avoiding eye contact with her, because of her position, but with time, she got used to it and ignored these beings and instead of them, she concentrated her attention to more friendly people. Today was the same as the days before. She bought everyting she needed to. She was carrying a basket full of vegetable, covered with some cloth. She was just on her way back to residence. Suddenly out of nowhere, someone bumped into her. Someone bigger than she was. She was used to it, but when the man made sure, she won´t fall by holding her, she stopped and saw the mans goods on the ground. After checking, her vegetable is alright, she immediately put the basket on the ground and began to help him, with picking it up. I am sorry too. She smiled at him. Have i destroyed some of your goods? She asked, because she had no idea, how it should look, hoping, everything is the way it should be.

His eyes met with big grey eyes of a beautiful young girl with long blond hair, small nose and full lips that seemed to gleam with a reddish pink colour. Till now he really didn’t payed attention to who he had bumped into. She was small too and didn’t look like she was a fighter. So maybe she was lucky that he caught her when he did? Well didn’t really matter. His eyes soon travelled to the basket she had placed down before she started helping with his goods. She really shouldn’t be helping him. After all he had bumped into the maiden and it was not her job to take care of his cargo. He put his attention back on her when he hear her voice. ”I am sorry too.” She said before she gave him a smile. Again a beautiful smile for the beautiful lady. He returned the smile and listened to her next words. ”Have I destroyed some of your goods?” She asked. He couldn’t help but let out a laugh at that. Not that he meant it in a rude way. He shook his head and stood back up. ”These goods are hard to destroy.” He smiled, it made it even funnier that the small lady faired she destroyed some. Especially because it was iron and weapons mostly. He took a breath. ”There’s nothing to be concerned about.” Especially not about some goods.
He looked over her. ”Are you alright?” She looked as if she was. But still if she got hit with one of his bags… He looked back at the basket. He placed his bags down and took up the basket holding it out to her. Seemed none of the vegetables had been lost ether. What was good. Though otherwise he would have offered to pay up for the lost ones.

He waited for her to take the basket before he leaned down and took his own bags again. Throwing them over his shoulder as his eyes met hers ones more. ”I would watch out where you going.” After all a girl like her was easily to get bumped into, and with what she was carrying… It would be a shame if she had to pick up every one of those vegetables. He looked away a second thinking. Before he looked back at her. ”Allow me to escort you away from the docks.” For the moment he didn’t have a special destination he had to go to. And well to make up for bumping into the lady.. That was the least he could do. Making sure it did not happen again. Like he said it would be a shame if her vegetables. Svipday was also not going to take no for an answer. ”Which way are you headed?”

She was little bit worried at first, that she could have a problem because of him. Some people were just blaming her for everything since she was just thrall. But this man seemed nothing like it. When he laughed, she smiled again. ”These goods are hard to destroy.” She thought the same, but she just had to ask for her own good. If she would destroy something, she would be risking her job. ”There’s nothing to be concerned about.” She gave him a smile full of relief and stood up after they put his goods back to his bags. ”Are you alright?”That question shocked her. She couldn´t even remember the last time she has heard this kind of question. Nobody cared about her. All that mattered was whether she is doing her job. I am. She nodded with light smile and took her basket from his hand. Thank you. She really wasn´t used to this kind of behavior. It suprised her. In the good way of course. When she saw all the heavy things on his back, she wanted to repay him his help. Can i help you with those bags? She looked at him when he started to talk. ”I would watch out where you going.” She didn´t know, how to answer him, so she just nodded. Unfortunately i can´t choose my path. She finally answered. Then he looked at her again. ”Allow me to escort you away from the docks.” He kept suprising her. She smiled at him again, but before she could answer, he talked again. ”Which way are you headed?” She felt that he really wants to help her and asking just because of he was polite. So she didn´t try to talk him out of it, because she had no time for that. I´m heading to the manor. She said certainly and pointed finger. This way. She started to walk and while he was walking with her she suddenly said. I have never seen you here. She gave him weak smile wanting an answer.

Arrival. [Sigrunn Vidarsdóttir] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Arrival. [Sigrunn Vidarsdóttir] Arrival. [Sigrunn Vidarsdóttir] EmptyThu Jul 13, 2017 9:44 am

He was glad to hear her say that she was alright. Some kind of relieve fell over him. That was good, after all he didn’t want to cause any trouble the first day he arrived here again. Though it hadn’t been him exactly that caused the incident it would be pointless to point her to the one that had started it. After all the man had already disappeared in the sea of people it seemed. Though the farter the wandered away from the dogs the less crowded it became. What was good, he finally was able to get some space. He only gave the maiden a nod at her thank you. It was hardly a problem. Also he didn’t react to her when she asked if she could help carrying his cargo. One it was not her task and she was carrying something of her own. Two what kind of man would he be if he let a woman carry his heavy iron and weapons? No that was a no go. As the sea of people seemed to clear he looked up at the houses again. Standing close to each other and forming streets as a maze. He could only remember them vaguely… So it probably would take some time to get used to them again and find his way around. So maybe for today he should just figure out how this village was built. So he wouldn’t look like a complete idiot and lose his way. Though as a stranger to this place… he should get a rain check if he asked someone for the way. His grey blue eyes moved back on the young girl when she said she was headed to the Manor. Seemed she was a slave working for the royals in the manor then. He gave her a nod and followed her swiftly as she leaded the way.

He let his eyes travel over the people they passed and the houses. Memorizing everything well. Also getting back some memories from when he was younger. Some places he did recognize here and there. Seemed tis place indeed hadn’t changed so much. Though he was sure over the years the people would have changed. He got pulled out of his thoughts when he heard the girls voice again. His eyes were soon pointed on her. ”I have never seen you here.” She said and gave him a smile. Svipday let out a small chuckle. ”That does not surprise me.” He smiled down at her before he looked straight ones more. [”I haven’t been here in a few years, and I’ve only come for trading. After that I will be headed back home.” Home sweet home where hi people lived, his family and friends, enemies alike. He looked back at her. [”To Uddevalla.” There was no harm in telling her that. After all he was not ashamed of the place he was from. Nor did he believe that the girl would be able to use it against him. After all here he was just a traveller and a trader and no one here in Kattegat should have something against that. Though some people might look suspicious to him. Like he said he wasn’t looking for any kind of trouble. He would like to keep it that way. He looked back down at the girl. It was a shame she was a slave, someone with her beauty shouldn’t be doomed to do the bidding of others. And all in all Svipday was not really a big fan of keeping slaves. Well… Depending on how they were treated and the situation. He looked back straight. [”May I ask your name?” He couldn’t help but be a bit curious and it was nothing but normal to ask a person’s name wasn’t it. Not that he had to ask it much. Because in Uddevalla there were not many people he didn’t know by name and not many people who didn’t know his. ”I am Svipday knútrsson.”

They were making their way to the manor through the streets of the kattegat and because she hates silence she asked him a simple question. He chuckled and responded her. ”That does not surprise me.” She looked at him for a moment, before turned her head again to see where she was going. ”I haven’t been here in a few years, and I’ve only come for trading. After that I will be headed back home.”He said to explain it to her. She nodded in understanding and started to think until he added something. ”To Uddevalla.” She looked at him with wide smile and sparks in her eyes. She felt lucky to meet someone who lives in her previous home. I grew up there. She smiled at him and continued. Tell me some news from there? She asked curiously. She just wanted to remember the old times. Her father, stepmother and her friends from there. And maybe she could learn something usefull about politics nowadays. Then they continued on walking and suddenly he asked her question, she planned to ask too, but he was faster. ”May I ask your name?”She smiled at him nicely. Of course. She nodded. My name is Siggrun Vidarsdóttir. She said her name with sign of confidence in her voice. She wasn´t ashamed for who she is. ”I am Svipday knútrsson.” Nice to meet you, Svipday knútrsson. She smiled again.

PostSubject: Re: Arrival. [Sigrunn Vidarsdóttir] Arrival. [Sigrunn Vidarsdóttir] EmptySat Jul 15, 2017 10:10 am

The maiden her eyes seemed to light up when he said he would return to Uddevalla. It was hard to miss especially in the bright smile she gave him. It was clear that ether she knew someone in that place… Someone precious to her. Or maybe she had been there or even came from there herself. His silent question his mind came up with was soon answered when she said she grew up there. But that only made more silent questions come up in his mind. What was she doing here then and why was she a slave? Could she have been captured? Maybe but then someone would have heard something of it no? Well with how things were back in Uddevalla…. You couldn’t be sure of anything anymore. So maybe she had left on her own accord… And maybe she even chose… He stopped the trail of his mind. It was not his business and he wouldn’t ask of it ether. Again even if it hadn’t been a choose and even if he would like to help her. It would be stupid to do anything at all. After all he was alone and it wouldn’t be good if he made trouble. It wouldn’t only be on him then but Uddevalla. But he seemed to be in luck because the lady directly asked something his mind could concentrate on. ”Tell me some news from there?” Seemed she was very curious about it. And he thought about it carefully. A hum left his mouth as he looked up at the sky.

He looked back down at the young girl. How long ago would she have left the place? Well a lot had happened in the recent time. But then again, he couldn’t say much had actually changed. ”It’s the same as ever.” It wasn’t a lie, the place hadn’t changed much at all. Though he couldn’t say the same for the people.Especially the king… That man worried him some. But nothing he would stay awake for.
name is Siggrun Vidarsdóttir. He looked back down at her and smiled when she told him her name. A beautiful name, but then something dawned on him. ‘Vidar…’ He stared at her. ”The pleasure is mine… But you don’t mean to say that you’re a daughter of the king.” It couldn’t be, it had to be a coincidence. After all as far as he knew, the king had one daughter and a son. A son who had recently disappeared. So now only his daughter was left. Who was still at the king’s side. So it had to be a coincidence. Just happened to have a father who shared the same name as there king. Right? He did hope for her that no one would mistake her for the king’s daughter then. That could… bring her in trouble.

She was walking with him, wanting to know some news from her birthplace. ”It’s the same as ever.” She chuckled softly. Of course he wouldn´t tell her much since he doesn´t even know when she left that place. Or he just didn´t wanted to talk about it with her. Maybe he feared, that talking about Uddevalla here is somehow dangerous to him. She understood him. Just as i expected. She smiled and looked at him. There was no big chance for place like Uddevalla to change. When she introduced herself, she saw curious look on his face. She acted like she hasn´t but she already knew, what was he thinking about. He probably thought she was daughter of the king Vidar. ”The pleasure is mine… But you don’t mean to say that you’re a daughter of the king.”She looked at him again and waved her head. I wish. Life would be a lot easier. She smiled weakly and added explanation. My fathers father admired father of king Vidar, so that is why my fathers name is the same. He was one year younger than king. She looked at him and nodded, continueing in her way to the manor.

He listened carefully to her words. Ah yes, now that she explained how she came to her last name. A man who admired another man had given his son the name of that man. Something that happened. It could also be said that their king once was a very admirable king. One to look up to. One who cared for his family. And treated his people as family as well. Something to truly look up to. He gave a nod showing her that he understood now. Yes once their king had been such a person. Now… Now he wasn’t so sure about that anymore. Since his wife died… The king had rather become someone to be fearful of. Not knowing what the man would do or how he would react. One thing was sure, if you were a traitor then you would never reach Uddevalla alive again. Or maybe you would reach it alive, but you wouldn’t get out of it anymore. Not alive and not as a dead man. And the people who were branded as traitors and would be killed… He was sure the king would curse them so that they would never reach vahalla. They would never be allowed to drink wine with the gods. What was a shame and the people in Uddevalla weren’t too happy with it. He looked back at Sigrunn. He would ask why she would have left her birthplace. But it was not his place to ask such a personal thing. After all he had just met the maiden. Would be rude, he was sure.
Still he thought it was a shame that someone like her was working as a slave. And one for their ‘enemy’ well. Maybe not their enemy now. But who knew maybe one day it would come to it. Especially if the people who killed the queen would be from here. What a war that would be. He wondered, at who’s side would she stand to fight. The people from her birthplace, or would she be loyal to her mater? Not as if Sigrunn would be left much of a choice. He looked back forward.

Slowly they were just getting closer and closer to the manor. It did gave Svipday the time to look around and get to know the streets and it’s people again. He if he was honest was happy that he didn’t have to walk alone. Not that he couldn’t, but it was pleasant to have someone next to him. ”How long have you been here for?” He then asked to cut through the silent. And to make a conversation again. Silents was okay well enough. But well the way the lady smiled, made him feel as if she enjoyed to have a talk as well. So it would be a shame if he stayed quiet then. Maybe even when he was still here he could see her once in a while. Would be nice to have someone ‘normal’ to speak to while he stayed here.
