• History: Sigurd was born with astigmatism in one eye, in the shape of a snake, thus the title 'Snake in the eye'. This flaw has a damaging psychological impact on him, making him feel different from his older brothers and more estranged from the family. He is a sensitive young man, growing up feeling that he has to provide himself.
• Personality:Sigurd has a primary mode of living is to focused internally, where he deal with things rationally and logically. His secondary mode is external, where he take things in primarily via his intuition. Sigurd live in the world of theoretical possibilities. he see everything in terms of how it could be improved, or what it could be turned into, Sigurd lives primarily inside his own mind, having the ability to analyze difficult problems, identify patterns, and come up with logical explanations. Sigurd seek clarity in everything, and therefore driven to build knowledge, much like his father.
Sigurd can be absent-minded professors, who highly value intelligence and the ability to apply logic to theories to find solutions. He typically are so strongly driven to turn problems into logical explanations, that the live much of his lives within his own heads, and may not place as much importance or value on the external world. However his natural drive to turn theories into concrete understanding may turn into a feeling of personal responsibility to solve theoretical problems, and help his society move towards a higher understanding.
Sigurd values knowledge above all else. His mind is constantly working to generate new theories, or to prove or disprove existing theories and so on. He approach problems and theories with enthusiasm and skepticism, ignoring existing rules and opinions and defining their own approach to the resolution. Sigurd seek patterns and logical explanations for anything that interests him.
He is extremely bright, and able to be objectively critical in his analysis, much like his brother Ivar. Sigurd love new ideas, and become very excited over abstractions and theories. He love to discuss these concepts with others, sometimes with Ubba, other times with Hvitserk. Maybe even Bjorn on a good day. Sigurd may seem dreamy and distant to others, because he spend a lot of time inside their minds musing over theories. He hate to work on routine things - Sigurd would much prefer to build complex theoretical solutions, and leave the implementation of the system to others. he is intensely interested in theory, and will put forth tremendous amounts of time and energy into finding a solution to a problem with has piqued their interest. For example, why his father had left him and his brothers.
Sigurd does not like to lead or control them, Sigurd is very tolerant and flexible in most situations, unless one of his firmly held beliefs has been violated or challenged, in which case he may take a very rigid stance. He is likely to be very shy when it comes to meeting new people. On the other hand, sigurd is very self-confident and gregarious around people he knows well, or when discussing theories which they fully understand.
He may have a problem with self-aggrandizement and social rebellion, which will interfere with their creative potential. Since his feeling side is his least developed trait, however he to has no issue with gaining nor getting attention from women in Kattegat. Sigurd does have difficulty giving warmth and support that is sometimes necessary in intimate relationships. Perhaps this is because of his mother neglect on him whilst his father was in Paris with Ubba and Hvitserk. If Sigurd doesn't realize the value of attending to other people's feelings, he may become overly critical and sarcastic with others. He is not able to find a place for themself which supports the use of their strongest abilities, they may become generally negative and cynical.
For Sigurd it is extremely important that ideas and facts are expressed correctly and succinctly. They are likely to express themselves in what they believe to be absolute truths. Sometimes, their well thought-out understanding of an idea is not easily understandable by others, but his is not naturally likely to tailor the truth so as to explain it in an understandable way to others. Sigurd may be prone to abandoning a project once they have figured it out, moving on to the next thing. It's important that Sigurd place importance on expressing their developed theories in understandable ways. In the end, an amazing discovery means nothing if you are the only person who understands it.
Sigurd is usually very independent, unconventional, and original. he is not likely to place much value on traditional goals such as popularity and security. He to has a complex characters, and may tend to be restless and temperamental. Again much like his brother Ivar. Sigurd is strongly ingenious, and has an unconventional thought which allows them to analyze ideas in new ways. He is at his best when he can work on his theories independently. When given an environment which supports his creative genius and possible eccentricity, Sigurd can accomplish truly remarkable things.
Sigurd has a natural ability to focus and get "into the zone" when working on a problem. He can absorb their minds completely with an issue, and work it through with amazing speed and accuracy. This ability makes him outstanding trouble-shooters. Since his logical abilities are dependent on his experiences, his abilities will increase with time. Sigurd respect for precision in communication lends him to the ability to accurately convey their ideas and discoveries in full. He is quite intelligent and can grasp difficult concepts, where his brothers cannot. He is often jovial and good-natured, with a good sense of humor. however he is not overly demanding in personal relationships, and have simple daily needs.
With any gift of strength, there is weakness. Without "bad", there would be no "good". Without "difficult", there would be no "easy". Most of Sigurd weakness are as followed. He tends to gets "stuck in a rut" and only does those things that are known and comfortable to him. Sigurd resists and rejects anything that doesn't support his own experiential understanding of the world. If he perceive that something is not logical, he will reject it as unimportant. He tends reject people who think or live differently than himself.
Sigurd can be extremely caustic and insulting to others. He also can become isolated from society. He can sometimes become overly paranoid about other villages, earls, Queens and enemies trying to control his kingdom. Sigurd can sometimes unknowingly or uncaringly hurt people's feelings. Sigurd though not as great fighter like his brothers, his mind makes up for what he lacks.
