It was magnificent to see so many people at one place. There were lot of other places with a lot of people, but the manor was something special. It was different for the rest of the houses. People showed more respect towards some others. For Eiríkr the place was to crowded, so he always stood at the sideline, near the door. If needed he could go out immediately. Only that way he could feel safe.
Eiríkr decided to go a little deeper into the great hall, still following the wall, staying in the shadows. It was so his eye fell on a door that was closed. He looked around at the people, but no one was paying attention towards him. Exactly as he wanted it to be. That and it gave him the opportunity to go inside. He had the feeling he did something he shouldn’t do, but he would figure something out if things were to go sideways.
When entering the room he was greeted with silence. Something was wrong though. There was like an instinct telling him that he shouldn’t be there. He knew as the best where to be and where not. But he couldn’t move his body out the door, not yet at least. Eiríkr had only seen a glimpse of the treasures that could be there. He had the feeling he was alone for he saw no one, still he didn’t trust it. Eiríkr dared to only move two steps further into the room. He had nothing so everything in the room could be of some use. While looking at the room, there was always a corner he couldn’t see. Eiríkr his biggest disadvantaged. He knew about it, but that didn’t mean he always took that into account. Not in the real world at least. There was too many distraction to pay attention to everything.

| If I had a heart I could love you , If I had a voice I would sing. His bited his own tongue just so he wouldn’t break his own jaws while he clenched them together. ‘Ivar.’ The voice snapped his right out his rage, jerking his head around to look to Floki. He felt his hands shack so he folded them together to first while Floki slowly shook his head. Ivar turned his head back, looking towards Sigurd who walked away with that irritating smirk around his face. Ivar grabbed his axe and kicked it against the ground, frustrated because he just had to give up again while all he wanted to do is beat up his own brother. When he turned back to Floki he was planning on saying something. ‘Don’t start about those stupid Gods.’ He hissed, dragging his body away from Floki who chuckled softly by the anger he showed. Always the gods, they did this and that, he needed to keep faith in them. Well, they made him a cripple, that didn’t came with any patience.
He dragged his body into the great hall, arms who could take more than only moving his body. He placed one hand for the other while the great hall felt tensed with his arrival. He didn’t care, he just pulled through, not looking to Ubbe who sat laughing in the corner. The talking minimized when he passed only to get there maximum again when he left the great hall to the dinner room. And when he came in the doorway he wasn’t alone. ‘What are you doing here?’ He snapped. By the gods, he didn’t need much today. He pulled himself further in, looking at the slave who just stood there. ‘Don’t you see,’ he stopped his words when the guy turned to him, he started laughing when he saw the man actually owed just one eye. ‘now I understand.’ He still laughed with the man his disability to have just one eye. He look to him from top to bottom, hiding his laugh behind a smirk when he crawled further, already annoyed by his presents. ‘I don’t want to pinch out your other eye to but you can’t be here.’ He held still aside a small table, reaching for the plate with a cup and ale, he tried to pulled it slowly over, off course, the cup didn’t find the balance and fell from the plate down. He took a deep breath, a very deep breath.

When a voice filled the room he turned around to meet the eyes of the person. He got a bit surprised when he turned around to see nothing, but when he lowered his eyes, he say the boy. A crippled? There was no glimpse of compassion in his eye. Should he feel bad for him? It has been a long since he’d felt something for another person and even at that moment, he felt nothing. Eiríkr did lower his eye to the ground, not looking at the person even when he crawled forward. Only look, when they give you permission. A long laugh filled the room they were standing in, only did Eiríkr not react to it. As if he was used to it. ’That would be rather unfortunate,’ he said to the boy. Unfortunate indeed, but for who. The boy his words did change something. Eiríkr was not just looking at the ground anymore, but more towards the other one. If someone threatens you, but you can’t see them, you are fair play. He only looked as the other one pushed his body over the floor towards a smaller table standing in the room. Maybe he couldn’t be there, but he wasn’t making any plans for leaving. Eiríkr was alone with a crippled boy, if he wanted to take something, he still could. But the boy got his attention again when something fell. The boy tried to grab something, but it had fallen. Eiríkr took his chance and grabbed the knife he had hidden underneath his clothes. He placed it in the sleeve of his shirt so he wouldn’t reveal it right away. Eiríkr set a few steps forward, keeping the boy at his right side. ’You live here?’ he asked without a real reason. [/quote]

| If I had a heart I could love you , If I had a voice I would sing. With Ivar you always walked on thin ice, now there wasn’t ice at all, you just splashed into the cold water … he lost his patience for today, and he hardly had some. Being around one of his brothers wasn’t a priority, or he would do something he would regret later on. Off course, he never got a break and he wasn’t alone when he crawled into the dining room. What was he? A slave? A villager? A spy … not that he could do much spying with that one eye. Got him laughing like an idiot in the first few seconds he discovered that. As long as he had something to laugh about other than he own disability. He couldn’t walk, this creature could only see through one eye, hardly fair. He lost maybe an eye he defiantly didn’t lose his tongue. ‘Yes it would.’ He replied softly, frustrated somewhere that the man wasn’t intimidated by the fact he was laughing so cruelly.
When he grabbed to the cup it fell down, luckily it didn’t contained ale. Ivar his actions were harshly in the way he grabbed the cup before he reach out for the ale again. In his eye corner he saw that man approaching him from his left side. Ivar turned his head, a set of impatient blue eyes looking up to that man who asked him a new question. He groaned, taking the ale and filling his cup, he shifted everything to the larger dinner table. ‘No, I’m just crawling around here and act like I own the place.’ You couldn’t miss the sarcasm. He pushed himself up on the table, blue eyes surfacing over the edge before he sat straight upon a chair. He pulled out his knife, hitting it in the wood of the table before he made himself entirely comfortable. ‘I should believe like you can’t see a thing, you sure act like it.’ Stupid, but he kept that for later. He grabbed the cup with ale, ale kicked over the edge onto the plates placed all around the table. He drank without losing sight of that man. And when he stopped drinking he grabbed for his knife again, pointing it at the man his direction, squeezing one eye shut. ‘You still didn’t answer my question.’ He pointed out. What was he doing here. He didn’t look like he belonged here, what was that even around his neck, he looked like a beaten dog, changed and broken. Yes, that was exactly what it was.

Laughing was no sign of joy to him. It hadn’t been for a long time. Always it was a laugh of victory, insult and for that he gave no response. Eiríkr was used to it as one would say. Like he called himself, Eiríkr was no one. While the boy tried to get his body on a chair, his own attention fell on a bowl that was standing op de table. It was filled with bread. The sarcasm was clear as the boy spoke. ’Looks like you have lots of experience at that,’ Eiríkr said without the sound of mockery. But he didn’t really knew what he’d said exactly for his attention was not with the boy. Another reaction to his missing eye came. ’Or I see only what I need to see.’ Maybe even what the gods want him to see, but the man had lost faith in the gods. If they existed, they were not at his side.
Eiríkr stopped moving when a knife was pointing in his direction. He didn’t move a muscle, but followed every movement. When someone pointed a weapon at you, that was never a good sign. He also lowered his eye, not looking directly at the boy anymore. Over the years he learned how to look, without looking, it was by looking from the corner of his eye. Of course you saw less, but less was better than nothing. ’I know,’ he responded to the question. Still not answering the question. Why should he? It wasn’t like he owed the kid that. His grip around his own knife became more firm. ’Why the interest?’ Eiríkr was not one to talk a lot, especially not about himself. He kept asking his own, to avoid answering those of the boy. Besides, there was no one that cared he was there, in the room. No one had noticed him when he had entered.
