Open - The start of a new beginning.

<sub>A lot of people were filling the streets. It had been a long time since he had seen so many, he couldn’t even remember it. That didn’t make it any better. He tried his best not to make physical contact with anyone or eye contact. But he did try to get a good look of the village, maybe there was something he remembered? So far nothing. He removed himself from the middle of the street. There were to many people there. Instead he walked at the sight line and he carefully looked at the people that passed by.
He could almost feel the looks that people gave him burn on his skin. Eiríkr wasn’t surprised, he was an intruder to them. They didn’t knew him, so they were wary. He could blame them but he tried to ignore all of it. The only thing he wanted was a place to stay, even if it was outside on a bench, it was better as nothing. Previous night he’d slept on the ground in the forest, so it couldn’t be much worse.

Eiríkr stood still when a big building appeared in front of him. It was different from the rest. All he did was look, trying to figure out what was so special about it. He even took a few steps back, so he got a better view. By doing that he walked onto something, probably a foot of someone. Immediately he turned around to meet that person. ’Excuse me.’ For a brief moment he looked up, so he could see who he was talking to. Eirírk wished he could just walk away, but it was a bit too late for that. Well no, it was never too late. He would only give a bad first impression. Also not true.

Like everyone he didn’t have eyes on his back and for that reason he’d walked against someone. It was not more than normal for him to apologies. That is expected of him or at least was. When Eiríkr looked at the girl, he saw her reaction, but he didn’t really care. If he was ashamed of his eye, he would’ve covered it, not a hard thing to do. The only people who maybe thought that was a better idea, was everyone around him. Normal people like the girl.
He had to take a step aside, so he could see were the girl was exactly. Talking to someone without knowing the exact location of that person, it was something he didn’t like at all.

The girl also apologised for what had happened, but Eiríkr shaked his head softly. ’No need for that,’ he said. If he had to take the blame on him, he would. It only felt normal. Either way, he was not looking for a discussion about who’s fault it really was. That could take hours and he wasn’t that much of a talker. ’What is that?’ he asked while pointing and the big building in front of them. It was to change subjects and make the conversation useful. He was not looking for fun chats about how great the weather was and what they were going to eat that evening. Eiríkr wanted to keep conversation to a minimum.
Talking about the building also gave him the opportunity to look at something other than the ground. He didn’t look people in the eye when talking to them, as he had learned to do. But only looking at the ground was also not the way to go.
